Most of us are familiar with the series on TV, MasterChef, where renowned Michelin chefs from all over the world flex their skills, demonstrate their art in fine dining and share their recipes. Not Gareth.
Gareth’s secret burger recipe is a closely guarded secret and trying to persuade him to share it is like breaking into Fort Knox. However, he has graciously given us 90% of the ingredients. How generous is that!!!
These burgers are wonderfully versatile for any relaxed family event. Gareth recommends that guests help themselves to an array of sauces such as mayonnaise, mustard, pesto or ketchup. These burgers are best served with slices of tomatoes and onions on warm, buttered hamburger buns.
· 2 packs of ground beef mince, depending on the amount of people you are serving.
· 1 Onion finely chopped.
· 1 egg
· Salt and Pepper
A hint: The secret ingredient is spicy and very South African
Place all ingredients in a bowl and, using your hands, mix well. Scoop a large amount in a muffin tray and place the tray in a preheated oven at 180 degrees. Bake until it is done to your own preference!
